FLOCK takes flight again!

10 years after taking flight the first time, artist Rachel Simmons is back with collaborative FLOCK printmaking project.

Spring Creek Prairie Audubon Center and Constellation Studios are thrilled to welcome back Florida artist and printmaking extraordinaire Rachel Simmons with the 10th anniversary of FLOCK on Sunday, May 4, from 2-4pm at Spring Creek Prairie. The program is free but registration is required as space is limited.

Rachel will lead and install FLOCK, a printmaking activity that engages audiences to print paper birds with iconic shapes, various sizes, colorations, and wild patterning….natural and beyond! All art supplies will be provided, and the project is fun for all ages, though best for ages 12 and up; youngsters must be accompanied by an adult.

"We are so excited to kick off Bird Month in Nebraska (May) with this bird-themed collaborative art project with Rachel,” says Jason “the Birdnerd”, Spring Creek Prairie’s Sr. Education Manager. “Working with Rachel and the community was one of the very first and most fun events I participated in when I moved to Lincoln and started working at the Audubon Center. The brightly patterned printed birds made during the FLOCK project not only brightened up the walls and rafters of our center, but were also on exhibit at Constellation Studios in Lincoln, and we plan to do the same this year, ten years later, to keep the FLOCK flying!”

FLOCK is being held in collaboration with Constellation Studios. Everyone is also invited to join in this spring birding extravaganza in the gallery at Constellation Studios May 5-7, 1:00-5:00 each day to pop in and create a bird for the FLOCK. Please register for this FREE event online at https://constellation-studios.net/upcoming-events/.
